Don't judge this by its name! I've had a couple "avocado haters" try this and they weren't able to figure out what was in it; if you pick the right avocado; not too ripe and not too green, I assure you, you won't be able to taste it at all. It tastes just like regular chocolate pudding, minus the dairy and processed sugar. Best of all, it takes minutes to make as it requires no cooking! This creation can also be used as a frosting for cupcakes, cakes, or any other desserts.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup of mashed avocado
6 dates
Raw honey to taste, I use about 2 tbsp
3 tbsp of raw cacao
1 tsp of vanilla extract
A pinch of salt
1/2 to 1 tbsp of coconut oil (optional)**
Preparation:
-
Using a food processor or high-power blender or food processor, blend all ingredients together until
smooth and there aren’t any large pieces of dates. -
Eat as is, or chill and serve.
** coconut oil is going to make it a little bit thicker/harder, if using as frosting, I highly recommend you
add it to the recipe.

Wow, I never thought about using avocado as a base for puddings and smoothies before. Thanks! It makes sense that it would work well, as it has a high oil content and is very creamy. Since there are so many kinds of avocado, I bet there is a very mild variety out there that would be the perfect choice.

Made this last night and had to force myself to stop eating it, or I would have eaten the whole thing in one sitting. Fantastic treat!! I didn’t have any raw honey, but used 2 dropperfuls of Sweat Leaf vanilla creme liquid Stevia. I also didn’t have raw cacao powder, so I used Trader Joe’s cocoa powder and I did include the coconut oil. Thank you so much for posting this recipe.
